It is so hot in Nevada Arizona Utah!
It is so hot in Nevada Arizona Utah!
I miss that Charleston humidity so bad right now. You havent felt heat until youve carried 40 pounds of camera gear up a mountain in the desert. All of you southerners that are complaining about the heat, believe me its much worse out here. Whew! Another Fuji 160 shot from my Canon A2. Such a dependable camera. Wishin I had that glass of water right now.

Jennifer Lauren Handmade and So Zo MMMay16 Giveaway!
Jennifer Lauren Handmade and So Zo MMMay16 Giveaway!
**THANKS EVERYONE WHO ENTERED, THIS GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED. CONGRATULATIONS KAMILA!!!**

Ok Me-Made-Mayers! Its time to celebrate all your efforts further still with another of our weekly giveaways. This week, us organisers (myself and Jen) have come together to provide the prizes: a bumper collection of PDF sewing patterns.

Jen of Jennifer Lauren Handmade (formerly Jennifer Lauren Vintage) is offering two sewing patterns OF YOUR CHOICE from her awesome range. Oh my goodness, there are so many beauties to choose from. How about her beautiful newly released Hunter tank pattern (pictured above)? Or the button lovers favourite, the Cressida skirt pattern (pictured below)? Or any of the other amazing options...

So what am I bringing to the table? Well I dont currently have a sufficient quantity of patterns to offer a choice, so Im simply offering up both my two sewing patterns! Theres the Dolores batwing pattern (pictured below) and the Anya shoulder bag pattern (pictured lower down in this post).

To enter, all you have to do is answer a quick question: whats the next sewing technique you want to master? Leave your answer in a comment at the bottom of this post, and remember to include your email address if I cant easily find it within two clicks of my mouse.
Every time I host a giveaway, I end up having to redraw the winner because someone didnt leave a way for me to contact them. If you win but theres no email address, then theres no way to get the sewing patterns to you.

Your email address will not be used for any purpose other than contacting you if you are the winner. Please remember that the giveaway is open to participants of Me-Made-May only. Leave your comment by midnight GMT Saturday 21st May 2016. I will pick a winner by random number generator the following day and contact them soon after.
Good luck!

Its so hot I cant think
Its so hot I cant think
I was trying to title this post and sat staring at the screen for who knows how long. So! Hot! Cant! Think! I am not a hot weather person. My favorite season is fall. I love sunshine and warm weather, yeah, but when the INSIDE of my house is 87 degrees (after cooling it down), thats too hot for me.
Anyways, this post isnt really about something, I just wanted to post some pictures of things Ive been working on lately! I have at least 13 new projects to share, and I decided to spread them out over the next week or two. Here are the first couple things.
I made this zipper pouch for my nieces birthday. I LOVE this owl fabric! I have been hoarding it, and figured it was time to use some more. >>Here<< is the tutorial I used, in case you want to make one too!
These are some cards I made for Mothers Day and Graduation this year. I ironed some fusible web onto fabric and ribbon, cut it to size, and ironed it onto the card. (I pre-printed the message onto the card stock first) While the card was still hot I pressed it in a book to flatten it out. Then I sewed a border around the edges. I like using fabric for cards because of the texture it gives the card, and also its a great use for those small scraps you dont know what to do with!
Im going to go check on our homemade popsicles now, and get stuff ready so Jer can barbecue up some dinner when he gets home! I hope you all are staying somewhat cool today :)
