Jean Paul Gaultier Fall 2009 Couture Show
Jean Paul Gaultiers Fall 2009 Couture show could have been entitled "Vamp 2009" — the influence of the silver screen was palpable from the very first, when Lara Stone entered the runway in full Brigitte Bardot mode, to the dress that seemed made out of film strips (above; also note the film reel bracelets). Femme fatales and screen sirens of yesteryear were beautifully represented and brought to the new millennium. While this cinematic collection was a bit uneven, it was exciting and ultimately satisfying.
